Geneva, Switzerland – On the sidelines of the 113th session of the International Labour Conference, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Mr. Abdel Moneim El Gamal, President of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF), held a significant bilateral meeting with his Brazilian counterpart. The discussions between the two sides focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange expertise between the labor movements in Egypt and Brazil.

This meeting comes as part of the ETUF’s keenness to build bridges of cooperation with various labor federations worldwide, stemming from a firm belief in the importance of international solidarity in addressing common challenges facing the world of work. Mr. El Gamal engaged in discussions with his Brazilian counterpart on prospects for cooperation in multiple areas, including sharing successful experiences in protecting workers’ rights, promoting decent work, and developing vocational training programs that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the workforce.

Both parties emphasized the importance of activating mechanisms for continuous dialogue and consultation between the two federations. This, they believe, will contribute to building strong partnerships that benefit the workers of both countries. This meeting marks a positive step towards deepening relations between the Egyptian and Brazilian labor movements, opening new avenues for fruitful cooperation on issues of mutual concern on the international stage.
